DJURA GAIDA is traditional Bulgarian folk instrument outspread in the Thrace region, Northern Bulgaria and Dobrudja. It is smaller and a bit easier to play on compared with the Kaba gaida.  Djura gaida is known by its bright, sharp, penetrating sound and a high-pitched register.

The instrument we offer is in D (re) pitch.

The chanter / "gaidanitsa is 30,8 cm / 12'' long ( together with the tin part that enters the hub ). The drone pipe "ruchilo" consists of 4 parts / which is perfect for professional players too. If removed the second upper part, the drone can get the key of G.  That way if one has 2 chanters - in G and D the gaida can be played in one of the prefered pitches. Total drone/ ruchilo length - 70,8cm / 28'' Diameter of the chanter glavina hub - 16mm; ruchilo hub - 17mm; duhalo hub - 15,5 mm.

The material used for this gaida is cornel tree considered to be the best material for woodwind instruments. Master Dimov works with wood which is at least 5 years old , and dried at special conditions. That guarantees the long life of instrument and its great sound.  The wooden parts here are colored in black, the blow pipe is ending with a cow horn top. For the make of the bag is used a young goat skin. The insertion parts are made of black plastic material, decorated with metal rings that also gives more strength and stability.
